The journey changes course again

Eds Adventures- It seems there is a new mission for me to pursue in the Gulf of Mex with the oil spill. sea turtles amnd migrating and nesting shorebirds are in critical danger from this spill. It could be worse than Valdez. I still remember those images of brids being covered in oil and people trying to save them. I think that is my calling for the summer.

I am in contact with several orgs working in the affected areas and will decide where to go from here. I am in Phoenix with my family and enjoying it so much. It has been 4 years since I left Az and it feels wonderful to get back and see family and my favorite dog in the world. Emmy is my sisters and lived with my mom. Seeing her again at 11 and a bit slower but the same great personality brought tears to my eyes. I know she remembered me. There is now an addition and pal for Emmy. Wayne after Ft wayne is a rescue wire hair terrior mix and the most beautiful but homely looking guy. see pics on blog. We have been walking the last few days and having a ball together. Wayne is keeping Emmy young and is a wonderful addition to the family.

I will be heading back to the Chiricahua mtns and the Southwestern Research Station where my camper is parked. I was to volunteer their for the month of may but told them i would stay a week or so then needed to help out with the spill. they were very understanding so it should work out fine although i was really looking forward to  spending the month in the mtns.

So the journey continues to call me in different directions from where I started but it is CLEAR where I want and need to be. The journey was about making a difference and there is no bigger need now.

Thanks so much for your e-mails and communication. It inspires me and means so much to have caring friends and family. See the great pics from Big Bend and Chiricahuas and Phoenix and will update when  I find out future plans.

God Bless and thanks

Ed
