Stephen Austin St Pk-4-7 to -4-12 Kerrville-Schreiner City Park 4-12 to 4-15

Eds Adventures: I finally left Stephen Austin St Pk west of Houston. Stayed 4 nights and had a great time. A golf course was less than a mile from my campsite so i spent some time there watching the Masters in the afternoons and eating some real food for the first time in a week. Got to walk 15 holes on Fri night with the deer and birds. Set up camper by myself for first time and closed it down.  What a awesome win for Phil at the masters. Watched it with Amanda, bartender at the golf course and some of the regulars. Even got a few drinks free, someone got a hole in one. Sure was good timing as I thought I would not get to see any coverage. Especially with Phil my hero and his wife and kids there at the end. Do not see Tigers wife anywhere or his kids. Too Bad.

I met Tom the "Vagabond" who is the park host for the campsite. He was so helpful and great to talk to. Saved me hundreds at a RV shop. He did some archeology digs in Dinasaur Pk and was an engineer for GM. Sally, Ben and the staff at the park were outstanding and so nice. The state parks have been the best so far as close to the highway, good fascilities and all have been on a river. Sure hard to beat that. I spent sunday shopping and doing laundry at Holiday Inn while charging my equipment and even having a nice free breakfast. Sure helps to act like you know what you are doing or play dumb whatever works.

I left on Monday morning and headed west about 240 miles ot Kerrville Tx on Guadelupe River. It is a city park but has great trails for biking and I am going  to try to get some kayaking in tomorrow. The birds have been unbelievable right at my campsite. Got the camper open in abouit 1.5 hrs this time so much better. I will head to Big Bend!!!! Finally after I thought that would be my first real stop. Too many other great places along the way and have no time committments.
